4-0 Astros in the last of the 8th. Looks like its a Houston/LA series coming up. Perhaps justice is served as they had the two best records in the game this year.

If all these pitching coaches keep getting fired before long we will have to bring back Hub Kittle.

Speaking of Hub, is he still with us? Mark Riggins is still available as well.

Any word on what John Farrell’s plans might be? Seems a good fit for the Nats job if you ask me.

I can stop worrying now. Well, at least a little. Now all I have to worry about is whether or not someone will beat New England in the playoffs.

9-0 now on a two out, two run double by Forsythe off of Lackey.

I assume this is Lackey’s swan song, not just for the Cubs, but his career as well.

With a 7-0 lead if Kershaw cant seal the deal tonight he is going to get a reputation as being a big game underachiever. And I mean UNDERACHIEVER, big time!

Keep pouring it on Doyers, don’t take any chances……

And it was less than a year for Lynn, correct? Didn’t he have it in November of 2015 and was back pitching in August of 2016?

Upon further review I assume they will start Kershaw tonight for two reasons. First, that makes him available, on normal rest, for Game One of the World Series – should they get there, of course. And second, if it somehow miraculously goes to a Game 7 then Kershaw, on 2-3 days rest, would be able to throw 2-3 innings if needed.

I look for a gem from Kerhsaw tonight and the Doyers win this one 4-0.

Dang it, the Cubs stay alive with a 3-2 win.

I wonder if the Doyers will go with Kershaw tomorrow night? Assume they will instead of holding him back for Game 6 if necessary in LA.

The unthinkable couldn’t happen, could it?????

Lets hope this game tonight ends the Cubs season right then and there. Don’t want to take any chance at a miracle comeback after behind down three games to none. We saw what it did for the Red Sox in 2004. Without that miracle comeback against the Yankees the World Series that year might have been a different story.

Dodgers storming back. Double by Puig and then a sac fly ties it 2-2.

Then Taylor homers and then Puig homers. 4-2 LA in the last of the 7th.

    Anybody but the Cubs……

Corey Seager left off the NLCS roster due to a back injury he sustained against Arizona. Big blow for the Dodgers.

Does it seem like the stars just keep aligning for the Cubs the last couple of years???

BlackHills? What happened? What are you referring to?

And who starts Game One for the Cubs against Kershaw? I guess it will be Quintana.

This one will probably be the end to Dusty Baker’s managing career. This job has John Farrell written all over it in 2018 unless there’s a stunning comeback in the late innings.

Yep, and the Cubs storm back and take a 7-4 lead against Scherzer. Nationals have the leadoff guy on via walk in the bottom of the 5th.

    This one is anybody’s guess……..

I highly suspected Hendricks couldn’t continue with his torrid pace. And it looks like Gonzalez is done now too. I assume Scherzer is coming into the game in the 5th?

Yankees out to a 3-0 lead on the Indians. Believe its in the 4th inning now. Kluber has allowed two dongs to Gregorius so far.

Guess the Cardinals aren’t the only team without an Ace……

    5-0 Washington the final.

Game Five tomorrow night in the nation’s capital. Hendricks against Gonzalez. Lester and Arrieta pitched tonight for the Cubs so Quintana will be the relief guy for the Cubs tomorrow night. Scherzer will be in relief for the Nats. My guess is Hendricks cant throw four straight really good games and the Nats get to him.

    Irregardless, anybody but the Cubs……

Grand Slam on a day with the wind blowing in 16 mph, this one by Michael Taylor off the Cubs relief ace Wade Davis.

5-0 Nationals in the top of the 8th. Strasburg dealing today.

Nationals clinging to a 1-0 lead after five innings. An error by Addison Russell allowed the only run to score.

However, unless they can widen their lead by a few more runs would anybody bet against the Cubs coming back to win this game? Its simple for Washington – score a few more runs or you will lose.

I couldn’t find the EDIT button so had to post again.

If a Game 5 is necessary it will indeed be on Thursday. And, of course, Dusty Baker says he is sticking with Tanner Roark for Game 4 instead of Stephen Strasburg. Which means he could bring Gonzalez back for Game 5 with Scherzer available in the pen.

Wouldn’t you rather go with Strasburg/Gonzalez over Roark/Strasburg?????

Nationals and Cubs rained out tonight in Wrigley. Wonder if they will play, if necessary, Game 5 on Thursday night? That would make back-to-back nights. I believe the NLCS is scheduled to start Saturday night in Los Angeles so I assume back-to-back nights if the Nationals win on Wednesday.

I hope and pray Rosenthal never throws another pitch for the Cardinals. I wish him well in his recovery but I just hope he doesn’t ever pitch for St. Louis again.

Any reason we couldn’t trade for both Stanton and Donaldson both?
