On a good note the Brewers lost to Cleveland 3-1 and the Cubs are behind 5-3 in the last of the 9th to the Phillies.
And I see where our old buddy Jon Jay got traded to Arizona today.
We don’t have a 1stbaseman. The guy playing there is lucky he catches the ball.
We don’t have a 3rdbaseman.
We don’t have a shortstop.
We don’t have a rightfielder.
What have we been doing for the last decade or so that we don’t have the proper players in their #1 main defensive position???
Not sure what everyone’s religious beliefs are but something tells me that Stan and Jack and Red are having a doozy of a time right now..:)
Can a guy get a red jacket like the one Red is wearing in the pic? I’d like to have one like it to go along with my green Masters jacket.
Why do some people think O’Neill has done well? Seems like all he does is strikeout to me.
Three run homer by Cervelli and the Pirates lead 8-5.
I am going to watch a 9-Ball match back in 2001 between Ralf Souquet and Efren Reyes from the Masters tournament then watch the rest of the Texas/Seattle game.

A soft line drive to single by Garcia scores Fowler and the Cards regain the lead. 5-4 after five.
Great, a throw to 1st by Flaherty on a pickoff that is almost perfect and Martinez cant handle it for an error. Harrison advances to 2nd. Surely – SURELY – they will get him away from 1st ASAP!
Anyway, Cardinals plate four runs in the 1st and lead 4-0 after one. Sounds like the Pirates got something going in their half of the 2nd, however.
So he’s on the 10 day DL. And then we read its significant.
Anybody got the definitive word here?
How many times did O’Neill strikeout in the minor leagues this year? I believe his strikeout rate was around 25%. That more than likely translates into about 33% or more in the big leagues. Unacceptable. If they strikeout too much in the minors its only going to get worse in the majors. They shouldn’t be in the big leagues until they get their strikeouts down in the minors.
As Chris Welsh, the Reds announcer, said a few weeks ago during the broadcast of a Reds game at Milwaukee…..”It used to be embarrassing to strikeout”……
Does anybody really believe that O’Neil belongs in the big leagues???
Randal Grichuk the 2nd.
Everybody realize the Cards go back to Milwaukee in three weeks? This time for a four game series. And then we are done in Milwaukee for the year. They still have two trips to St. Louis though.
You got that right Onyxgem. He’s been terrible so far. The Strike Two call on Gyorko wasn’t all that close. Heck, ol’ Jedd even had already tossed the bat away so he could head to first.
These announcers are stupid. So much stupid wrong stuff. And now they just said the Cardinals are off tomorrow.
0-0 after two, Reyes gets out of the bases loaded jam.
Where on FB can this be found? Will somebody post a link?
Rizzo doubled in his first atbat tonight in Pittsburgh. I assume the retaliation will be forthcoming soon.
Has anybody ever watched a Facebook game? Is the feed dependable? Does it slow down, stop, skip, etc?
I know everybody has high expectations for Reyes. But I’ve been around long enough to realize you need to understand its a results oriented business/game and so far Reyes really hasn’t don’t anything. Until he does I am not going to get too excited over him. Hopefully he will be the Ace we have needed for years but I’m not expecting that.
That could have been a career ending injury for the Pirate catcher right there.
Again, all I can say is….”DUCK RIZZO!”
I guess the kicker (no pun intended) here is that he could still touch Homeplate. Like the runner breaking up a doubleplay at 2ndbase, as long as he can touch the bag its deemed okay.
When I saw the replay I thought it was okay. But once you see the right angle he was about a foot in front of homeplate and clearly going after the catcher. Granted he could still touch the plate with his right hand but to slide into a defenseless catcher like that is total horsesh~t.
Wait and see in the game tomorrow night. Duck Rizzo. You deserve what you have coming.
Carpenter is an above average MLB 1stbaseman?????
Don’t tell me, let me guess, there is some W9B or ZRU or BP1BO metric that says that, right?
All you have to do is use your eyes and you can see how bad he is. That was obvious last year too. And if you cant see it, then you simply don’t know baseball.
I don’t know about the rest of you posters but every time Jose Martinez takes the field to play 1stbase I cringe. He’s an accident waiting to happen. He has no skills at all to play 1stbase. If you don’t hit him in the chest with the throw or the grounder doesn’t go right to him its time to panic. Carpenter is pretty much in the same boat as well.
We don’t have a 1stbaseman and a shortstop. Two of the most important defensive positions and it rears its ugly head every now and then. And I don’t consider DeJong a shortstop either.
Where do the Brewers rank as a team in the NL as far as total strikeouts go?
We are catching a Milwaukee team that is hot. They are on a roll. Very good chance we lose 2 of 3, or more, in this series. However, Weaver seems to pitch well at PNC Park so maybe he can toss a gem for us today.
