Where does Nunez start in the states next year? Maybe Johnson City like Gorman?

I think the new members of the bullpen are the biggest reason for then better play, 2)the change in managers, 3) More timely hitting, 4) Consistently good starting pitching It is truly amazing with all of the injuries that we are in this position. How many other teams could have lost this many starting pitchers?

Not looking good if Wacha has not pitched since 8/18 at Palm Beach, and even then he only threw 2/3 of an ineffective inning. Maybe he is put on the 60 day DL?

Brian, won’t you be putting out your thoughts on September callups soon? It seems like might need another outfielder, unless anyone wants to say Adams can play there, in which case I say PLEASE NO!!

Bowman was placed on 7 day DL August 14th, so he could be activated and released any time.
I would really like to see Layne added.

I think Ross would no longer be needed. He’d might pass through waivers, and then trade him.

The old adage, if they pitch you away, hit them away. Way to go Tyler!!

Wainright threw well tonight, Hopefully he can add some multi inning relief, if needed. And Casadilla was great tonight.

Nor sure of DSLs playoff format. I think the division winners square off.

I think Schrock will bounced back next year. And Young’s recent power surge makes him intriguing. Cards seem to have a lot of utility guys.

A few thoughts about the game tonight.

    1) It could be said about a lot of players, butBuehler could have picked instead of Nick Plummer. THe Dodgers picked him with the next pick.

    2) Both pitchers tonight could be great for the next 10-15 years.

Not sure what DSL rules are, but Oscar Taveras won a batting title in that fashion.

While watching the Peoria game on MILBTV I heard the announcers say that the Quad Cities affiliate pitchers needed 65 strikeouts to break the all time minor league record. THen I check out their stats, OMG, 8 to 10 pitchers have some phenomonal strikeout totals. I don’t think I have ever seen anything close.

Too bad, Helsley won’t get a chance for a call up then.

Winning tonight is key to taking the series. I don’t recall our record against Ryu being very good.

After a rough patch, Gorman with 2 home runs tonight. 15 this year in short season ball + Peoria.A nice plus is that both came off of a prospect with A SUB 0.30 era.

Seems odd that Helsley was restored to Memphis’ active roster and then not used.

Quite a few great pitching performances so far today. 3 double digit strikeout performances, although Schlesener’s was involved in a suspended game. Both DSL starters had great outings. Puello looks like the real deal. And I hope Schlesener gets bumped up to Peoria for their last few regular season games and playoffs. Schlesener seems to have improved greatly on control. Lots of ground balls and strikeouts. He surely should make the top 50 list.

There are several DSL hurlers who should pitch in the states next year, so maybe they will fill the pitching prospect gap.

It is clear there are many legit prospects. The only problem with this is playing/developemnt time.

    My list would be:

    1) Knizner
    2) Kelly
    3) Rodriguez
    4) Ortega
    5) Soto
    6) Hererra

I wonder how they will make room for Wainright and Leone coming off the 60m day DL? Moving Fowler to the 60 day DL is one possibility. Maybe DFA Bowman, as other relievers have passed him by on the depth chart.

The above lineup has 50+ home runs in short season ball.
