I missed Roberts getting bumped up to Palm Beach just in time for their playoffs. It is a nice bullpen arm to have, and a telling sign of where he starts in 2019.
Player of the year seems to be between Montero and Thomas,
Not in favor of pitching to Harper in either situation. Especially with a 3-1 lead and count. After having watched Glavine never give in to hitters seemed like a time to throw a chase pitch, and take your chances with the next batter.
I hope Cedeno and Torres start at Peoria. Their spring and their health will dictate that. And if Gorman starts there also, that ought to be a powerful lineup.
Walsh is an exciting prospect. He should be at Springfield next year. Also can’t wait to see some of the young DSL guns pitch in the States next year. Not sure if those kids were part of the spending spree, but if not, those lottery tickets might pay off.
Hopefully we keep in winning in September. And sweep this series and gain on either the PHIls or the Cubs.
One little thing I noticed about last nights game. Schreve slamming his fist into his glove after he walked the batter. Unlike watching most MLB and PGA players, I like it when they show emotion.
What was that pitcher MIke Shannon always talks about? He had a clause in his contract deducting for too many walks. So he simply hit them when counts got to 3-0 and 3-1. Does Santana have same contract language?
Maybe Nogowski and Young could backfil all the prospects Memphis has lost to STL.
Maybe Big City can make the most of Carps exit.
It seems like some minor league teams can expand their roster for the playoffs? is that so? Or is it just the rookie leagues where they often don’t have a full roster of 35?
I hope Carp is okay. If not, can they get Cesar Cedeno?

Not watching. What happened to Carp?
I think it is good for him to get a couple more starts at least. I would rather see him in a relief role. He would give Shildt another arm that could pitch multiple innings.

I hope their bats come alive again.
August 26, 2018 at 12:37 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2017-2018 #66899Our glaring need right now is a reliable lefty out of the pen. Sheeve has been okay, but seems vulnerable to the long ball. And Cecil just needs to be cut. I’d like to see Layne given a chance. He has been really good.If you release Cecil and Bowman (assuming he comes off the DL), or perhaps Ross, then move SHerriff to the 60 day DL that would be clear enough space for Waino, Leone and Layne.
Several starters from the Blue team look very good. This should give them a chance to win the DSL. Playoffs start next Tuesday against Rangers1 team.
Really excited to see what Nunez can do in the states next year. His stats are off the charts. And unlike Sanchez, whom I liked, his strikeout rate is low.
Not only did Nunez win the triple crown, he lead the league in OBP, SLG, and of course OBP+SLG.
Another reason Montero may be moved is Gorman will have top priority to stay at the hot corner.
Gorman I think will stay at third. Starts next season at Peoria, could move fast.
Montero ia a hitting machine. Not sure if he’ll stay at 3rd. I’d say he’ll start at AA.
Nunez defensive numbers were good. Can’t wait to see him play in the States.
Mendoza I think will improve next season. Should start at Memphis, unless Wisdom is still there.I guess this would be Gorman 2nd 1st home run since this is a suspended game from before he arrived in Peoria.
Gorman, 3 run shot off of a lefty. He has been fun to watch.
