If Schrock is deemed a starter, I would trade Wong. Especially if Kolten continues hitting better. Preferably in a package deal.

This game looked like the movie “The Hangover”. Pretty lethargic play after 5 exciting games in a row.

I think Ellis and Poncedeleon are interesting prospects. What do we do with them? If they keep pitching like are, they surely would be a good chance to be lost via the Rule 5 draft, or they may be 7 year free agents. They could help our bullpen, but with no 40 man roster spot avaiklable, and barring a trade to lessen the roster crunch that seems unlikely.
Also, is there any news on Derian Gonzales and Ronnie Williams’ injuries? I thought Williams was seeking a second opinion on his elbow.

I have sure fire strategy to win tonight. Have everyone hit the ball to left field.

I know Springfield scored 15 runs, but there also 30 strikeouts between both teams. I hate this trend.

I would have voted for Gomber, as contact is the easiest stat to measure either way.

I would like to see Gomber start, but maybe not against the Cubs.

I would not have thought O’Reilly would have done this well in his first start at AA. They always say it is the toughest jump.

I’ll make another stab at player of the day. O’Reilly, maybe? I wonder how his stuff will play at higher levels? I’m guessing he has great control and tops out at 90? A la PJ Walters? Maybe he might gain a little pop as a reliever?

Anyone know what happened to Walsh last night? Short outing?

And it appears to appears Wiliams season is over. Damn his luck, as he was pitching his best in 2018.

It sure looked like besides the top of the order for the Sox, a good chunk of their lineup was hovering near the Mendoza line.

Was in St Louis for the game last night. Not much action by the Birds until the 9th. Most exciting thing for the first 8 was the wave. And Hicks hitting 100-102 on the gun with frequency.

Roache with 2 homers, 4 rbis, player of the day on a slow game day.

And shouldn’t Reyes be headed to be headed to a rehab assignment soon?

And what about Cecil? Is he getting closer? If not, he could be moved to the 60 day DL, and basically swap places with Reyes, right?

No doubt they played poorly against the Pirates. But I will say luck was not on their side. Several flairs fell in and Mayers sawed off a couple bats that look like line drives in the box score. What is most disturbing is the bullpen and Matheny blew Friday nights game, and they only score 2 runs the next 2 games. I wish I could see Carpenter and Fowler making louder outs at least.

I’d like him just to stick the bat out on every away pitch. That’s the beginning of hitting the ball the other way.

And I will agree with whoever said Matt ruined his swing trying to hit more homers.

Back in the day, a player would try and bunt when he was in a slump. I know he has been attempting to do so, but I would like to see Carpenter try multiple times per at bat. I don’t even think you have to be sneaky with as much room as there is on the left side of the infield. Just square around and put it within 10 feet or so of the line.

So, Wainright looks to be back, unless they start Gomber in his spot.

According to MILB.com Helsley is pitching for Memphis. SO no bullpen game.

Greene is already on the 40 man roster. So Helsley, Schrock, and possibly Fernandez and Williams would need added. Even with a few subtractions they will be at 39 or 40. Something would have to give for adding any free agents.

It’s not a good situation to have 3 regulars hitting below .200, and 2 relievers that have not proved reliable. Welcome to the 20 man roster.
