Bling:
I’m not quite sure I understand what that means. What I do believe, however, is that for the most part leadership cannot be learned. You either have it or you don’t. Some aspects and some techniques can be acquired, of course, but in general true leaders are born, not made, though sometimes it requires certain circumstances for them to rise to the fore.
1Tough:
Despite my criticism I’m like you, a blood member of Cardinaldom rain or shine since the 1940s.
Losing is a state of mind, or at least 50 percent of it is, and once into it even more difficult to overcome than a defective swing or pitching mechanics. The only way to correct it is with LEADERSHIP. And with our club, where is that going to come from? I don’t think it’s going to come from the top step. I really hate banging on the manager, but as they say in France, ya gotta call a cat a cat.
These morning-after reads from 6,000 miles away are depressing and deleterious to my digestion.
Perhaps what we should do henceforth is forfeit the first game of every series and give these poor exhausted players a day off every three or four days.
Hey who is this guy wearing Paul de Jong’s number!
“Our lineup has been inconsistent to say the least…”
What lineup? We haven’t seen the same one two days in a row.
What is it these days with announcers and analysts, impossible to say a pitch is high? It’s always “elevated.” It’s never high and outside, it’s “elevated and away.” Is that part of the new rules perhaps?
Kinda chilly down here in the cellar ain’t it? Any chance we might start digging ourselves out tonight while I’m Sleeping?
For what possible reason is Contreras batting third?
By golly we did it!
Magic runner time again.
Once again, unable to seize the opportunity.
According to my calculations, a loss in April remains a loss all season.
I’ve got no quibble with that lineup, except perhaps Contreras should be batting 10th.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all gang up on somebody today and drench him with praise for an outstanding day of baseball?
Too many opportunities not seized, then add Hicks as the cherry on top.
Here’s the part I hate, this darn runner started ae second.
Opportunity not seized.
Oooh what a shame!
Contreras finally gets a hit after 20-odd futile tries and they sit him in favor of a .100 hitter. I guess he must be exhausted after that putout at the plate last night and needs the rest. I was hoping for a confirmation of the two-hole comeback.
Why lift Woody now?
How come this guy doesn’t still work for us?
Contreras needs a bat that’s two feet longer.
I keep hoping the Contreras flower will burst into bloom to the delight of us all, but not much evidence of it so far to keep our hopes alive. How long can we live with the “It’s early yet excuse?”
April 14, 2023 at 9:27 am in reply to: Why Jordan Walker will start the season in AAA – not MLB #216583I’ve never gotten overly excited about hitting streaks one way or another. Often there is a fair amount of luck involved, not to mention the official scorer’s mood, what he had for breakfast or if wifey was sweet to him that morning.
