I don’t think Reyes’ primary problem has been fastball velo.
When trying to establish greater consistency in both mechanics and results, one common approach is to dial back on maximum velocity.
The Astros hitting coach throughout was clueless, or so he says…

"I served the longest suspension in MLB history. It cost me well over $35M. And you know what? I deserved that."@AROD says the Astros deserve whatever comes their way after the lack of remorse they've shown. pic.twitter.com/AnezyIyhHa

CFICT asked:
Has anyone heard anything about Brad Miller?
On track to be back on Friday.
B-Ref developed a spring training stat that measures the quality of opponent based on the level played the previous year.
1 is rookie ball and 10 is MLB.
Through play yesterday, Dylan Carlson's quality of opponent was 6.8 or below AA (7).#STLCards

Wednesday following Flaherty, also available to pitch are RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon, RHP Junior Fernandez and RHP Kodi Whitley.
Kim is the Thursday starter.

To Make the Playoffs – St. Louis Cardinals
Yes +110 (11/10)
No -130 (10/13)I want to be clear that I do NOT agree with this comp, yet I could still not not share this #stlcards spring training uniform number assignment coincidence (?) between two non-roster invitees in 2001 and 2020, respectively. pic.twitter.com/p6PtRLOCdU

During the upcoming season, a number of #stlcards prospects will be added to the 40-man roster and make their MLB debuts. While Dylan Carlson is a slam dunk, predicting others is more challenging. A history lesson helps. ($) https://t.co/LBwwpJcjOr pic.twitter.com/rGBqchJdsF

Seems to me that if Kim was injured, he wouldn’t be throwing at all.
Monday lineup.
1. Tommy Edman (S) SS
2. Yadier Molina (R) C
3. Matt Carpenter (L) 3B
4. Tyler O’Neill (R) DH
5. Dexter Fowler (S) RF
6. Rangel Ravelo (R) 1B
7. Dylan Carlson (S) LF
8. Harrison Bader (R) CF
9. Edmundo Sosa (R) 2BAccording to Keith Law of The Athletic, the #stlcards farm system is no. 9 in MLB, their best ranking I've seen to date for 2020. https://t.co/SJxNc38XLg

Genesis Cabrera is starting today’s game instead of Kwang-Hyun Kim. Kim is scheduled to throw a side session instead. #STLCards

The #stlcards are just 3-6-1 on the spring, with pitching and hitting in the middle of the MLB pack. A number of pitchers are performing well, with Paul DeJong leading the offense. That is not how I meant the article to be interpreted. This latest article is not about Opening Day. It is about the players using an option at any point in the entire upcoming season. The two articles prior to that (linked at the bottom of page 1 of this thread) are my Opening Day roster predictions.
They told a story on the broadcast this past week that Carlton himself had told them. He had caved into Gussie’s contract demands and was walking down the hallway to the offices to accept, when they met him and told him he had been traded. If he had come in a few hours earlier, the whole decade may have changed. Maybe the next one would have been even better, too.
Voting is now open.
Decisions, decisions. 🤔

Minor league options are less understood, but extremely important in roster setting. I cover the odds of options being used in 2020 for the entire #stlcards 40-man roster in my annual deep dive assessment. ($) https://t.co/ZHjI8wNKoS pic.twitter.com/Wn9N1Uo8aM

Ravelo has played in the outfield every season for the last four years – since before he joined the Cardinals. It is not new.
