lots of runners stranded.
I really like edman, personally im not in a hurry for carpenter to return. edman hits better and defensively is much better.
I don’t understand why its so hard for these guys, especially pitchers to bunt. it only helps yourself why not grab a buddy and work on it. its not that difficult if you practice it.
well that didn’t go well
bases loaded, can we take advantage
July 26, 2019 at 10:38 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #99441I think the cardinals need to get a top line starter. I think its possible they can win the division without another one but im not positive. I definitely think we need another if we want to go deep in playoffs. I really like stroman with Toronto. might have to give up a lot but I feel he would be worth it.
while I wasn’t present long tonight, I want to thank everyone for helping this team climb the ladder tonight and take over first place.
that’s a winner
im thinking we need to have somebody up, carlos has to be tired but maybe
well gacard, goldy was a bust for a while. while not alone in that, he was expected to come in and be that difference maker at the plate. he wasn’t that the first half of the season. yea hes gotten hot as of late and hopefully will stay that way but he was horrible at time, let alone just not good.
well just got to tune in to see our pitchers walk 3 straight guys. not good. I don’t see what the announcer was griping about. I saw one close pitch for both gant and miller. neither a definite strike and both pitchers were missing so horribly, they didn’t deserve any close calls.
I saw where the pirates announcers were dogging munoz for stealing second and third in the 4th inning of Wednesdays game cause the cardinals were up by 7 runs. saying it broke unwritten rules. also they said that the fans were booing munoz when he stole third. first the unwritten rule of stealing when way ahead only applies late in the game. lot of seven run leads have been blown in games, the cardinals just came from seven down vs the reds and that was in the sixth inning I believe. secondly the fans were booing the pirates player for not covering the bag or trying to hold the runner on. I always loved whiteys line. if they stop trying to score runs, we will stop trying to steal bases. I do understand there is a time to take the foot off the gas in a huge blowout but its not the fourth inning, not in the major leagues anyway. with young kids yea. my son played at this park that was not a high level park, it was more for just kids that wanted to play regardless of skill level. well after the end of the season, we would play teams from other parks. one park in particular was known as an elite park far as talent goes, they cut lots of good players there. well this one manager that coached one of the teams from there, had been there lots of years. he did this nice gesture when he knew he was facing a much weaker team. once his team got up by ten runs, he would have his batters put one foot on the plate and bunt the ball, which is an automatic out, no steals or running on passed balls. if the other teams scored some runs, again he would do the same thing once he got back up by ten. I always respected him a lot for that. while I saw some coaches stop running or have their kids bat opposite, I never saw anyone else do that.
its a winner
ive always felt you should have somebody up just in case. I know they thin k it tires their arms out but just easy throwing is fine, right now brebbia should be in there. we may still win it but doesn’t change it.
they might need to get somebody up, Martinez isn’t right.
its getting tense.
miller is never a sure thing. its getting too interesting.
man I had went out with the girlfriend to the store, come back and I turned on the game. first thing I see we are down 7-2 but and I see puig make a bad throw to third. then all of a sudden im seeing us score in total 8 more runs. what an inning. got a little help, some bad reds defense but we haven’t been always done anything with errors in the past so great to see us make em pay tonight. its easy to give up runs here so we got to pitch well here and play solid defense. bad start by waino though, cant overlook that just because we came back.
well ratsbuddy, an error can cost you a game in the early innings just as well as later. but they have been rotating guys through the lineup quite regularly so I don’t find it a big deal. plus Martinez has been feast or famine at times. but im the kind of person that will always lean to defense wo theres that.
well we have those other two runs now. its on the pitching staff to finish this one out. any more runs should just be cake.
yes but wacha has a terrible era which is a better indicator of performance. baseball at almost every level outside of the youngest is about giving guys that have shown they are hungry to compete the chance to do that while guys that have slipped are given a chance to reflect and work on things to get them back to where they were.
well to be honest I don’t believe in boycotting. i started out as a fan in the seventies when they were really bad, went through the late 80s to mid 90s slide. a long term fan is a fan of the whole organization and history. a lot of teams don’t have that history really so i can understand with them, the cardinals no. the fans do a good job of letting the management know when they aren’t satisfied. that’s my feelings, there are gonna be years like this and the past few, but times will change.
happy birthday mike Shannon.
well that ended up being a great catch by fowler. it would have been a little easier if he had taken a better line on the ball.
well cards are doing great right now. lets keep it up. id like to see a couple more runs, if mikolas and the bullpen cant hold that, its on them not the offense.
