Memphis 3, Gwinnett 6

The Memphis Redbirds fell to the Gwinnett Stripers (Atl) in a 6-3 contest at AutoZone Park on Tuesday night. Starter Connor Thomas pitched three innings, gave up four runs on four hits, struck out four and walked four. Thomas took the loss, his 11th of the season.

Grant Black relieved Thomas and threw two scoreless innings. Johan Quezada surrendered one run in the sixth. Ljay Newsome tossed two scoreless innings. Zach McAllister allowed one unearned run in the ninth.

Gwinnett took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Memphis quickly answered in the home half to tie it on a solo home run by Moises Gomez. His 37th long ball is most in Minor League Baseball and tied for the most by any Cardinals minor leaguer since at least 1960.
