Player Bio

Became a Cardinal
Selected in the 13th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft.

2011 Season
Almost made the Cardinals due to a strong showing in spring training. Made a brief MLB debut in June, but was not brought back in September. Continued to get on base with great regularity as indicated by his .417 Memphis OBP, fourth-best in the Pacific Coast League.

2010 Season
In 105 games, he lead Springfield with 125 hits, 76 runs and 64 walks while playing in all but one game as the third baseman.

2009 Season
In advancing from Batavia to Quad Cities in late June, Carpenter was the Cards’ first draft pick from the June draft to be promoted and the second position player to reach a full season squad. He moved up to Palm Beach for the final month. Overall, his line was .283/.370/.390 in 291 plate appearances in 70 games across the three levels.
