Tuesday’s opener of the Pacific Coast League Championship Series between the Memphis Redbirds and El Paso Chihuahuas (Padres) has been postponed due to inclement weather. The series will begin at AutoZone Park tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7:05 p.m., with the rescheduled game played at 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, before the series shifts to El Paso Friday-Sunday.

I checked the weather forecast: Memphis should be cloudy but no rain tonight, and tomorrow’s day game should be fine. The games in El Paso will feature sun and temps in the 90s. GO REDBIRDS!

    Memphis wins 6-4

    O’Neill with a homer

    Martini with 2 hits

    Hudson 6 ip 2 ER

El Paso has a lot of guys who’ve played in the ML for more than a cup of coffee. Beating them would be a huge accomplishment.

The Memphis Redbirds took Game 1 of the Pacific Coast League finals over El Paso Wednesday night. Player of the Day Patrick Wisdom plated two runs on doubles.

Here is hoping Wisdom gets a shot somewhere this offseason with a deal with a Spring training invite ( can you say Phillies,Mariners,Royals,Angels,Mets,Brewers ) all could use 3B-1B bench bat with above average defense. He likely won`t get any real shot in StLouis.

Today’s mound foe will be Bryan Rodriguez ERA=4.90 WHIP=1.53 and only 63 Ks in 126 IP. He has been better of late and is 7-1 in his last 10 gms.

Tomorrow in El Paso we’ll be up against Walker Lockett ERA=4.39 WHIP=1.45 33ks in 55 IP. Lockett was on the DL from 6/2 until 9/6. In his only start since coming back he went 3.0 inn. on Friday giving up 4H and 3ER.

The Redbirds will start Herget for the day game today at home, and Helsley tomorrow night in El Paso.

Wisdom will most likely be back in Memphis next year unless selected in the rule 5 draft. He is not a minor league FA until after 2018.
