Jack Flaherty (0‐0, 11.25) vs. Dinelson Lamet (7‐6, 4.40) 9:10 p.m. FOX Sports Midwest
September 4, 2017 at 12:50 am #32353Lamet is pretty solid for a rookie. The guy can throw some gas and usually throws a first pitch strike.
Also listen to Austin Hedges music. It’s careless whisper by George Michael.

LF Bader
CF Fowler
SS DeJong
1B Martinez
CA Molina
3B Gyorko
RF Piscotty
2B GarciaThat’s a solid lineup and won’t quite have the ridiculous 1-2-3 of the SO trio (Bader, Grichuk, DeJong combined for 8 of the 11 Ks last night)
I’d like to see Wong and Pham back soon though. Carpenter is said to return Friday.
September 6, 2017 at 12:40 pm #32482For those that didn’t see the game last night and think Cecil got the job done in his one inning stint, here are the facts.
The first batter smashed a double down into the LF corner. The next batter smashed a hard groundball down toward the 3rd base line that Mejia made a good backhanded play and threw the runner out. The next batter smashed a line drive right at Mejia who caught it and fired to Valera to double off the runner at 2nd.
He faced the minimum, but was lucky he didn’t give up three hits.

September 6, 2017 at 3:35 pm #32494The Brewers lost at Cincinnati again today. 7-1 Reds the final. Could we possibly move in front of the Brewers tonight?
And is this Nicasio any good?
September 6, 2017 at 3:45 pm #32498He is pretty darn good. He will probably be our closer for the rest of the month.
September 6, 2017 at 8:22 pm #32503Cubs and Pirates are in a scoreless tie in the last of the 7th at PNC Park. Would be nice for the Pirates to pull off another win and give us the chance to creep to within three games with over three weeks to go.
We got a lineup yet?

September 6, 2017 at 9:02 pm #32504Cubs have taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the 9th. Looks like we will need a win to stay four games behind them.
September 6, 2017 at 9:33 pm #32506Did I read correctly that Nicasio would not be available for playoffs?
September 6, 2017 at 9:37 pm #32507Yes. He will NOT be available to pitch in the postseason since he was acquired after August 31.
September 6, 2017 at 9:39 pm #32508Just answered this for me on the telecast. Again, dumb trade given he will not be able to help us IF (big if) we make post season. Another gem by front office.
September 6, 2017 at 10:07 pm #32509He would help us if there’s any tiebreaker.
Did anyone see what happened on the Piscotty and Garcia gaff.
If that’s carpenter at 3rd we don’t turn that.
September 6, 2017 at 10:34 pm #32514Bottom of the 5th, Padres lead 1-0…
September 6, 2017 at 11:36 pm #32521Top of the 8th, Cards now lead 2-1 after Piscotty’s 2 run HR back in the 7th, no outs and Pham on 3rd and Fowler at 1st thanks to the first baseman’s error…
September 6, 2017 at 11:38 pm #32522Bader gets the first out of the inning, though does it hitting a sacrifice fly to bring Pham home to make it 3-1 Cards…
September 7, 2017 at 12:04 am #32523Bottom of the 9th, Cards up 3-1, Padres with a man on 1st and second with no outs, Lyons pitching at the moment…
September 7, 2017 at 12:33 am #32524Lyons manages to hold on and Cards win 3-1…
